“When people first started saying ‘masks,’ even though I sew, I resisted making any. There was so much confusion about whether cloth masks would even help, or how to properly make them so they didn’t make things worse. Eventually, it seemed that it was at the very least better than nothing. I finally started making some. I didn’t make many, but what I did was gratifying because it was an opportunity to make, and they fit me well. Now, after my second booster, I rarely wear a mask anymore unless I’ve been knowingly exposed. It’s hard to start again. That weighs on me though, and I’ll probably wear them more again this winter. I feel resilient most days, but I know not everyone has that fortune.”
